Tibetan Stupa, is an Arizona non-profit, EIN 27-0997081, formed to fund selected construction projects for Tibetans in exile at the Mainpat Tibetan refugee settlement camp in central India, and to provide humanitarian assistance as needed.

Tulku Tsori Rinpoche, aka Tulku Karma Gyurme Rinpoche, has been the moving force behind all of the help and improvements at the settlement for almost a decade.

April 2010:  We dedicate our prayers and activities for those who have died from the recent earthquake in Tibet, for those who have died for the past generations, for those who are stuck in the intermediate states, and for all in human form, may they all become Bodhisattvas.

Rinpoche has developed a plan to provide all of the needed construction projects to serve the current and future generations of the camp.  Tibetan Stupa has committed to the construction of the Stupa, the buildings that the girls will live, learn and practice in, and to other buildings that are generally used by all 2,000 people of the camp.  Plans are to complete all needed construction between 2012-2014.  Total for these construction projects comes to about U.S. $3.5 Million

Tibetan Stupa also has committed to do humanitarian projects for the people of the camp, on an as needed basis as Rinpoche requests.  Occasionally, we will do a Tibetan Buddhism-Tibetan cultural project, again on an as needed basis as Rinpoche requests.

Each page of this website describes one project, it's costs and it's benefits to the people of the camp.
CURRENT TOP PRIORITY PROJECTS:  PLEASE HELP US REACH OUR GOALS FOR:

Cows and Goats House Project: to support self sufficiency, for milk and yogurt, and protect the animals from predators and weather.  These precious animals and their offspring will never be killed for their meat, they will live out their lives naturally at the Monastery area.  More than 75% funded.

Brick Making Machine Project: to bring self-sufficiency with building and repairing buildings.  Machine is almost 50% funded.

Construction Materials Project:  to complete payment on construction materials, in order to continue with the construction of the partially completed buildings.  About 65% funded.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:  The foundation stones for the Stupa, the Tsori Nun's Monastery and the Classrooms have been laid!  This happened on April 16, 2010, during ceremonies at the camp in India.  A Representative of His Holiness Dalai Lama's Office was there, especially for the cornerstone laying ceremonies.  There were prayers and other ceremonies, and traditional Tibetan dances to mark this occasion.  Noted Indian leaders were there, and were honored and thanked for India's strong help over the past 50 years in providing land for the Tibetan refugees to live, the Mainpat camp being one such place.  This year, Tibetans in exile in India and around the world have specially expressed  their thanks to the government and people of India who have done such a life saving act for Tibetan refugees by making land available for them to live in freedom in India.  This great gesture from the people of India has been a major support for the survival of Tibetan culture over the last 50 years.

Small Business Supports the people of the camp!  Love & Tea, a small, family owned, organic tea blend business in rural Vermont, heard about Tibetan Stupa and the Tibetan refugee camp thanks to Aluna Joy of Sedona, AZ.  The owners of Love & Tea contacted Tibetan Stupa with their idea to donate on a regular basis from their online sale of tea.  See the special, organic tea blends that Love & Tea offers at www.loveandtea.com
Most helpful to the 2,000 people of the camp is the conscious decision by Love & Tea NOT to wait until they are a big business, but to donate their chosen amount from their business now, on a weekly basis!  Thank you so much to Love & Tea for initiating this idea and turning it into action.  If you would like to design your own small business giving 'program', please contact Kathleen at kcampkathleen@yahoo.com
Thank you for your support for the the people of the camp!
